⁣Ankle Sprain Rehab: Phase ✌🏼⠀⠀After your body has had the chance to heal a bit, it is time to move into phase 2 of rehab! ⠀⠀You will be ready for this phase 1-2 weeks following injury depending on severity of course. ⠀Some of my favorite options are outlined in the videos above 🥰⠀1. Plantar Flexion with resistance 2. Dorsiflexion with resistance⠀3. Eversion with resistance⠀4. Tipping Birds (affected ankle will be balancing) ⠀5. Squats on tippy toes ⠀6. 3-way taps (affected ankle will be balancing)⠀7. 💥ANKLE PAIN💥📚 the ankle joints are at the base of our bodies - having strong and mobile ankles is important for overall stability with things like running, squats, jumping, balance, etc.📌those of us with a history of ankle sprains (especially repeated) can be at increased risk for ankle injuries/pain down the road- so focusing on optimizing ankle health is a good idea 💡 👉🏼 although ankle pain has many causes, addressing mobility restrictions and muscle weakness is usually an important part of treatment. On top of that, it’s always important to consider the effect of neighboring joints (like the feet) that can indirectly cause issues at the ankle.📚here’s a couple of exercises that can be helpful for improving ankle strength and mobility:✨ankle dorsiflexion mobilization ✨deep squat hold ✨ankle eversion with band✨ankle inversion with band✨KB hip flexion (ankle iso hold)📌keep in mind that treatment for ankle pain will look different depending on the cause!
