A spring sunset over the rolling hills of the Palouse region of Washington State. During the Ice Age, and up to just 10,000 years ago, glaciers covered the Palouse. During this time strong winds blew across the prairies, depositing large amounts of silt across the landscape. The silt was then ground down to a fine powder by the glaciers. Eventually the silt settled, forming the rolling hills that you see in this image. • • • • • #palouse#rural ...
Surreal glimpses, seeing stars beyond reality, seeing possibilities beyond constraint. Lightness oozing in, brightness in dark corners long forgotten. Blotting out the black and ringing in the light, at once embracing and shedding a past which illuminates and eliminates in the same stroke. Here I stand, under these moody-dark skies, finding myself, uncovered, as ever the skies churn endlessly and listlessly, above. Dancing. Roiling. Uncovering the truth, unwinding time. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ 25 exposures stacked for noise reduction Each exposure 13 seconds, f/2.8, ISO 6,400 @nikonusa D810 + @sigmaphoto 20mm Art NIGHT 16 - @thegreatmilkywaychase
