I am not a fan of Times Square. The crowd. The pushy costumed superheros. The glitz. But this caught my attention and made me take a closer look. . Well done, Kehinde Wiley. It will be even more striking when it's soon placed in Richmond, VA. . #artspeaks#rumorsofwar
From 46th into #timessquare you’ll notice a gorgeous, giant, equestrian statue ... but then ... something is off (“Nikes?” I said) ... it’s not the usual figure from hundreds of years ago. It’s a contemporarily dressed African-American. The #sculpture is meant to contrast those of confederates that still stand in the American South. has succeeded in creating a work of tremendously striking beauty that forcefully speaks against outdated symbols of enslavement and inequality. is certainly worth seeing.

During Columbus Day weekend, we wandered around Times Square in Manhattan. Cool to see Chinese fans celebrating BTS Jimin’s bday with ad in Times Square was a pleasant surprise. Of course had to check out the Kehinde Wiley statue Rumors of War there til December 1, 2019. Dad always needs to check out Times Square. . . ❤️😍🤩🚶🏻♀️ . . #wanderer#wandering
Got to see Rumors of War by Kehinde Wiley in NYC before it moves to its permanent home in Virginia. Seeing it in this setting, especially with the flag at half mast behind it for Congressman Elijah Cummings was pretty spectacular. #newyork#rumorsofwar
