RUNNING STREAK DAY 50! 118 miles in 50 days! 🎉🎊🎉 This morning, I got up and hit the Rail Trail in Glen Rock. This portion of the Rail Trail actually still has RAIL! I headed out of town in one direction and returned. Then I walked around and did some exploring in town and out to the other end of the Rail Trail. It was soooo beautiful! And at that hour of the morning, mostly all shaded! 🙌🏻 I decided to do a 1-mile run back. So a total of 3.17 running miles and 1.5 walking miles for Day ...
This is what I get for choosing sleep over an early run! No cloud coverage and too damn hot! I really needed the extra sleep this morning and I don't regret my decision. However, I did question it a bit while I was slowly running and profusely sweating. Time to amp up the mileage again! • • • • • #runningismyfavorite#sleepismyfavorite
Recovery run along the lake front. Glad I was out early because it warmed up quickly. Somehow Chicago went from cold weather to imitating the surface of the Sun 🔥🔥 overnight! Mentally I am going to have to adjust my expectations for the climbing temps. I know, easier said then done! You all will need to keep me honest. Hope you had a great day and great run!! #recoveryrun#hotchicago
This chart shows heat acclimation. Faster times in hotter temps. Could be function of shorter distances. Don't worry, we have charts for that. What will your chart show you? Stay hydrated, friends. #competerunning#runsmarter
77 degrees feels like 92! It was so hot, so I kept my run short. It still felt great getting out for a run this morning. Hopefully Friday I can get out and run earlier when it’s not so hot. . . . . . . #fastedrun#summertimerunning
2 days with temps over 90 and 6 miles each day. This is summertime running. I bring water with me. Take in a lot of electrolytes. I create “cool” moments for myself by walking in the shade and taking advantage of the downhills by letting gravity due its job. I smile....a lot. It tricks my brain into thinking I enjoy it. And afterwards, when I’m cooling off with ice cold water and a popsicle, I always do enjoy having done it. 13 weeks until race day! #summertimerunning#run
Today wasn’t my best race day but definitely a race I walked away learning more about my physical and mental strength so I can continue to get faster and stronger. 💪 Always great seeing my @wearenycrc teammates before the race and run a cool down mile with my buddy @bassembaiady 😁 Also, this was my 9th race for 9+1 guaranteed entry into NYCM 2020! 🙌 #marathontraining#tcsnycmarathontraining
I haven’t run 6 miles since early June. It’s time to start building my distance and endurance again, but that was hard today for some reason. Well, they WERE those dang hilly rural roads!😜😅😝 My average pace was pretty slow. I had to stop twice for about a 15-second breather at the top of two different hills. But, beginning at mile 3, I had negative splits to the end, so I finished strong - at least I didn’t limp across the finish line!😆 Oh! And apparently it was fertilizing day, so that made for an aromatic run!!😂 Chalk up ...
Took inspiration from my running buttys @rockeyroberts and @sophie__runs on this one! My #goodr sunnies are simply beautiful! So comfortable, so pretty, and can’t wait to get out for a run to test them out!! Also can’t wait to invest in more colours 😉 🕶 Thanx for your speedy delivery @goodr 🥰 . . . #goodr
A few years ago I didn’t appreciate the benefits of the brick ride run workout at all. It’s become essential to my weekday workout routine. My go-to brick is a 1 hr endurance bike, including 4 minutes of tabata intervals (20 secs hard, 10 sec rest) and a 10 min recovery cool down (easier to do on a trainer), followed by a 3 mi Z2/3 run. It didn’t happen overnight but my fitness and race performance has gradually improved. #triathlete#brickriderun
Seriously sweaty // Sunday’s 20k was soo humid! And I thought summer running in Hawaii was like being in a sauna but without a whisper of a trade wind here it’s a whole new level of sweatiness 😅 To stay cool & hydrated in the race I decided not to carry anything but instead grabbed a cup of water from every aid station - drank some and then poured the rest on my head. It worked wonders apart from also soaking my shoes - ultimately resulting in 3 black toe nails (my feet started sliding up against the front ...
Living in the south can be tough when you have dogs 🐕! You can’t take them out as you please...it really has to be early morning or later evenings unless you make it real short for a quick “pee” midday... That’s when I miss my California weather !😫 the weather is so god there you can run your dog and yourself at pretty much anytime of the day most of the year... #runningwithyourdog . #summertimerunning . .
It only takes a mile to keep the streak going. Day 51✅ Doodle Run! I think he’s starting to really like it! He used to ignore me and keep sleeping when I went out for my early runs. Now, when I put on my sneakers and open the front door, he comes running downstairs to go!🐶 This was the last hot morning, hallelujah! Morning temps back in the 60s this coming week!! 🙌🏻 Happy Sunday! Is it a day of rest for you? Or a busy day?? Ours is pretty laid back, not much going on. ...
This runner is speeding up. Depending on their running goals, they are either gearing up for a race or neeed to get conversation pace workouts. What will your chart tell you? #longdistancerunning#running
Oh wind how I despise you. Even winds that are only about 5mph can feel like 50mph when you end up running against them.. On a positive note, running in the wind definitely tests your endurance! #ilovetorun#runningmama
Ready to go before the run -> Relaxing in the shade after the run. . Kopie is my favorite training partner -- and running is good for him just like it’s good for me, but he also gets tired and sore and thirsty and hot, too. Dogs need rest and training and water just like us, especially as the temperatures rise. But they can’t tell you what they need (and are probably too excited to slow down), so here is my friendly summertime reminder to be sure to look out for them. . Before you head out on a run ...
My London landmark today run was down memory lane. Always have fond memories from my first job Turning Point. Almost 27 years ago 😆🤭...Wapping/Tobacco Dock. Ran 5.61km. @jaytee.kay @kondelgee @tommillar72 @spencer_a_jones did this run for you. It was very emotional run but I loved it.. on to the next landmark.. #tobaccodock#wapping
When you go to cheer on runners for a race and last minute get a free entry. First race running in cargo shorts and wouldn’t ever do that again. At least there were margaritas at the finish! #gr#margaritamadness5k
Two solo miles today. I consciously worked on my form for about a mile ( off and on). Sometimes I was heel striking and sometimes I wasn’t 🙄🤦♀️. It’s hard work trying to correct form. Makes me achy in places my legs aren’t usually achy. But I’m noticing a difference in my feet and Achilles so that part is nice. #sunshineyday#solomiles
👟 #1strun 🏃♂️ 1st run for my @saucony Triumph ISO 4 shoes. Pretty comfortable and can't wait to get some miles under them these next few months before switching to trail shoes to get ready for an Ultra. 💪*****👟*****🖐*****👟*****💪 #wlsselfie
